New Guild in the High Peak

There's a new Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers in the High Peak, formed last August. I was a bit late signing up but finally made it in December and discovered the meeting place is almost on my doorstep (5 mins walk) so this is too good to miss out on. Whaley Hall is a super place to meet with several different spaces, plus kitchen, a garden to sit in when the weather is nice and a car park. Although it is a small Guild at present there are other enthusiasts to get together with and share ideas, skills, inspiration and fun.

The Guild meets 2nd Sunday of the month, so next meeting is 11th January and if you are in the area please come along. We will be looking at three different samples of fleece scoured by different methods by our Chair and I'll be taking along an assortment of spindles and other simple spinning tools to look at and try out. We are also promised almond shortbread.. yum!

Whaley Bridge has a railway station on the Manchester-Buxton line and is also served by the bus no. 199 Manchester Airport - Buxton, download for the 199 bus timetable available here.
